Right of Secretary of State to decide on early release of determinate sentence prisoners.
The House of Lords held that it is consistent with the Human Rights Act for the Secretary of State to retain the right to decide on the early release of determinate sentence prisoners, and is not bound to follow the advice of the Parole Board.
